JBL Control 28-1 Description

The Control 28-1 is part of JBL’s renowned Control Contractor Series, designed for high-output sound reinforcement in a compact and weather-protected package. Capable of handling up to 240W of program material at 8 Ohms, this speaker delivers an SPL of up to 112 dB for clear and powerful audio even in large spaces. Its fiberglass woofer ensures strong bass response down to 45 Hz, while the PEI diaphragm tweeter provides smooth and natural highs.

The enclosure is constructed from high-impact polystyrene with JBL’s WeatherEdge rubberized extensions, protecting components against heat, moisture, and wind. The IP44-rated design makes the Control 28-1 suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations, from background music to full foreground audio systems.

Installation is simple thanks to the InvisiBall mounting system, which allows easy angle adjustment through a hidden access point behind the JBL logo badge. For maximum flexibility, the built-in transformer supports both 70V/100V distributed audio systems and direct 8-Ohm connections.
